Buried Beside His Daughter
I don't know how he died; the police are withholding the information for sensitive reasons. I don't know where he will be buried; maybe they haven't decided yet. All I know, I feel, is this sense of outrage once more at the senseless loss of life from gun violence.

"The body of Jeremy Richman, who was the father of Avielle Richman, was found inside Edmond Town Hall in Newtown, Conn., about 7 a.m. Monday, police said. Avielle was one of the 20 first-grade students shot and killed on Dec. 14, 2012 at Sandy Hook Elementary School."

"The state medical examiner confirmed Wednesday that Sandy Hook father Jeremy Richman died by suicide."

In New Zealand they passed gun laws after one mass shooting. In Australia, lawmakers solicited money from the gun lobby. In my country we weep.

And kill ourselves.

Because, once again, the people with money have shown they don't care. Their greed trumps human lives, the lives in this case of a six year old child and her father. Their money stops any attempt to do anything to stop this.

I don't know that gun regulation will stop mass killings, killings of children in schools, but the people with money don't want to even try. Greedy: it might slow down sales.

I don't know that he will be buried beside his daughter, but I hope so.
